Now that you are officially past the midway point of the course, what elements of the social media marketing campaign do you feel are the most important? You must also respond to a minimum of two other students’ blog posts.

I think there are a lot of important elements in social media marketing campaigns. I think the most important element is choosing the right platform for your campaign. For example, if a company is trying to market to business people, they likely wouldn’t be marketing on Snapchat and if they are, they aren’t likely to get a very good return on investment for the campaign. Instead, they should consider marketing on a site like LinkedIn that is designed specifically for creating connections in the business world.

I think another important aspect to consider when creating a social media campaign is how they plan to get their message out to people. Targeted advertising has come a long way when it comes to fine-tuning the audience a business is hoping to reach. However, a growing trend in the marketing world is influencer marketing. Influencers are more widely trusted by their audience than traditional marketing is according to Forbes (Arnold, 2018).

Overall, my ideas around social media campaigns haven’t changed much. I have enjoyed diving deeper into understanding social media campaigns and learning more about what goes into them, though. I have always had an interest in social media and specifically social media marketing. I enjoy learning about and researching why certain marketing efforts work and what needs to be taken into consideration to reach each target audience.

Being in the midpoint of this class, its a great feeling because it means I am almost complete with college. I will say its one of the things I’m looking forward to being done with, it feels like I have been in school for a long time. Currently still being in the military, I won’t be able to use my degree right away but I’m looking forward to using it when I get out in the next three years. My plan is to continue to educate myself on Marketing even when I am out of school. This way I can further my knowledge and be successful in the real world.

In my opinion, one of the most important elements of marketing on social media is being able to reach your target audience. Without being able to do so, it will make your campaign fail and do horribly. For example, if a make up company were to use Instagram, it would be to essential for them to use hashtags to be able to reach their audience. They could use hashtags like “#beauty, #makeup, #beautiful, #loveyourskin”. These are all popular and would work for their campaign.

The importance of social media for me, has not changed. I think social media is one of the best ways for companies to be able to reach their audiences all across the globe and continue to reach their business. For instance, in this case we are in now with COVID-19, people are spending more time online than ever. For small online businesses this is a prime time for them to be able to build their sales and generate business. This is a really effective time for them while others may be suffering, they can thrive online.
