Jorge and Luisa were married for over 60 years. Jorge had always been very vocal about his desire to be “put out of his misery” if he became bed-ridden and pain-stricken at the end of his life. He had advanced directives in place to support those wishes, but by the time Jorge reached his 90th birthday, he was in exactly the state he had always wanted to avoid. Luisa begged his doctors to end his life, but since he was not on life support, the law prohibited them from doing anything other than providing pain medicine, which kept Jorge in a state of semi-consciousness most of the time. Feeling she was failing her husband if she stood by and did nothing, Luisa gave Jorge an overdose of his pain killers, causing him to pass away in his sleep.

Given the fragility of his health, the doctors assume Jorge died of natural causes. You are the only one who knows what Luisa has done. What do you do? Give arguments to support your view, and also be sure to explain how someone who disagrees with your position would argue against you.
