Question Description
Sustainability project
This is a project we will work on during the entire quarter.
The goal here is to analyze your current organization (or former one if appropriate) and develop a plan for sustainability. You will evaluate where they stand on environmental, economic, and social sustainability. You will then develop a plan for improvement to further efforts for sustainability within that organization. Within this project you should also consider the lessons from The Leadership Challenge textbook.
Use the various links I have provided to further investigate how to manage sustainability.

Review the document from this link:

and peruse this document. It is long but valuable in thinking about leadership and sustainability.

Answer these questions:
- Is there any focus at all on sustainability within your organization? Is there any discussion of it?
- What is the pulse of sustainability in your organization/department/team?
“A culture of sustainability is one in which organizational members hold shared assumptions and beliefs about the importance of balancing economic efficiency, social equity and environmental accountability”
- Do you think your organization has this focus?
- Which areas of your organization do you believe you can influence? Which area/organization/team have you chosen to focus on for this effort?
The deliverable for this first week is to answer the questions above. You are not devising your plan yet, just reflecting on where your organization/department stands right now, and where you might see some opportunity for improvement. It should be 1 to 2 pages in length.
The entire project’s details are provided separately under its own tab in course content.
