Question Description
You should write a paper that is between 2 and 5 pages in length. You can addressany aspect of the topic. When you do so, focus on one aspect. Do not cover multipleones as that will likely take up too much space. Possible topics/questions you could address include, but are not limited to thefollowing:o Has the trade war with China made it easier or more difficult to respond tothe current pandemic?o Should certain products be protected by import restrictions for nationalsecurity reasons?o Should supply chains of certain products be limited to only producerslocated in the same country?o Should outsourcing/offshoring of certain production processes be limited? Each of these questions, as well as many other ones can be addressed/answeredarguing either in the affirmative or the negative. Your paper will not be gradedbased on which side of the argument to take. Rather, it will be graded based on thequality of the economic argument that you make. Almost all arguments can besupported by appealing to models and ideas we discussed during the semester. Youcan also use arguments from other economics courses you have taken.
