Question Description
After learning about two competing views regarding Distributive Justice (Nozick and Rawls), as well as exploring two theories regarding the need to “put the community first” (Plato and Marx), it is now your time to reflect on the extent to which the state is justified in playing an active role in society and working to correct the inequalities that arise from capitalism and Libertarian freedom.
Specifically, students will respond to the debate waged between Robert Nozick and John Rawls, and articulate a well-reasoned defense that answers the question: Is the state justified in redistributing wealth?
Your response should be at least two paragraphs and be defended with supporting reasons and evidence.
